I tried a lot of restaurants located in District 3 and 1 of Saigon; in fact I thought I tried them all but that is not the case. We all had four days of vacation and we tried a few new restaurants. The one that impressed me the most is named Goc A.
The restaurant is well positioned and well designed. The interior is very clean, simple and elegant, and the staffs are friendly.
First thing that impressed me, is their pork ribs barbecue. When I first taste it I felt an aroma very familiar to me, something that I have not experienced in a very long time. It is hard to describe it in words but it was a European-Mediterranean aroma.
Second, there you can find food for kids and by food for kids I don’t mean yogurt or such things, I mean the food is arranged in the plate forming different themes for kids to enjoy eating. For a better understanding take a look at the picture below.
My daughter loved that teddy bear made out of rice.
The third thing that impressed me is the way they cooked the rice. It is called pineapple rice and the name and the picture below should clarify what that name means. The rice is fried inside of a half pineapple and of course it has pineapple aroma.
The fourth thing that I liked is their hot-pot. I don’t usually eat hotpot but this time my wife ordered it so I tried it. I am very choosy when it comes to hotpot but I have to admit that this was one of the best hotpots I have ever eaten.
Moreover, at the end, we got two vouchers for 250,000 VND each; a total of 500,000 VND (about $25) which means that next time when we have a meal there we can use them and pay less. I believe these vouchers were limited offer for the holiday season.
The restaurant serves Asian cuisine and it is located at 63 Ho Xuan Huong, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City (map above). I highly recommend it!
